The Life and Times of Bitsy Ramone

I want to tell you a story. I want to tell you about my life or at least the soundtrack to it. Music is the largest part of my life. It's all about discovering and re-discovering music and perhaps a little bit of myself on the way. This will be done through words and videos and reminisces from the past and present. Along with the usual gig reviews and pictures, we shall be interviewing people about their influences too.

The Dresden Dolls London Roundhouse 3rd Nov 2006

Last night, I had a great time in the company of painted freaks, performers and burlesque dancers and of course, The Dresden Dolls who are doing two shows this weekend at the newly refurbished Roundhouse in Camden Town, which they are filming for an upcoming live DVD. It was just the most wonderful setting and the sound was fantastic and the band was just awesome. The highlight was the beautiful dancing girls and the Cord de Lisse acrobat during "Gravity" and a rare live airing of "The Jeep Song" my personal favourite from the first album. This is my third show of theirs this year and it was definately the most spectacular.

Set List:
"Sex Changes"/"Missed Me"/"Gravity"/"Modern Moonlight"/Mrs.O"/"Backstabber"/"Coin Operated Boy"/"Two Headed Boy"(Neutral Milk Hotel)"/"Mandy Goes to Med School"/"Slide"/ "Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner"/"The Jeep Song"/"Dirty Business"/"Delilah"/"My Alcoholic Friends"/"Bad Habit"/"Sing"

Encores:
"Mein Herr"(from the musical 'Cabaret')/"Mad World"(by Tears for Fears w/Trash from The Red Paintings)/"Half Jack"/"Girl Anachronism"

All of the evening's performers from all around the Roundhouse join Amanda and Brian for a rendition of "Sing"

That's a lot of photos!

It really was a great, great show. Normally you spend most of your time at a gig hanging around waiting, whereas the night just flew by.

They never seem to disappoint.

You've posted some excellent photos of the whole event - thanks for sharing. I went on 4 November as well and added some more (slightly better) photos to the blog.

Long live the punk cabaret!

Thanks Guys, it was a great show, it was a spectacle and it was so refreshing as you say to have multitude of sins on offer instead of getting drunk and watching set changes or looking upto the rafters.

Roll on the fucking DVD!!
